Day 144 .... 04.10.13 .... Newbold-on-Avon

This morning there was a great mixture of light and the rain managed to hold off .... too windy

...................... for the first time ever we managed to cross this bit with a view of Coventry in the distance without rain.  We worked out that we have been this way four other times, each time squally and wet.
One can just make out the towers of Coventry about 6 miles away.

................ enjoyed the light again

............... and going under what I think was the M6

All along this part of the Oxford Canal there are some lovely old iron bridges kept in very good condition.

This is the entrance to the Newbold tunnel beyond which we are moored for the night.  This is not very long but has some atmospheric lights  in which make it very user friendly.

.................... we were pleased that the lights, or most of them, were still working !!!

.............................. a grreat idea  ................................

We are probably going to stay here for a day and have a look around Rugby.  Then onwards down to Braunston etc.
