Day 54 ...... 06.07.13 .... Newbury 2

Started the engine up this morning to go towards Reading and the Thames and a warning light and whistle came on from the oil.  Luckily we were by a yard where we had filled with diesel and they rang a mechanic who has been, looked at it and ......... is returning when he has finished getting a hotel boat back on the move !! Thinks it could be something called the "sender".  Have a feeling that he will not be back today .... we shall see.
In the meantime Newbury has entertained us pretty well with its traffic free High Street and various buskers, hence the following pics.

here is the bridge carrying the High Street over the river

The High Street was impressively busy with plenty going on. Not quite sure what the gentlemen on stilts were doing but they were entertaining with the Dam Busters music playing.

The market was looking good

There was even a Punch and Judy show with astroturf for the children to sit on and deck chairs for the adults.

This juggling unicyclist had a very good patter as he threatened to juggle with children and fire !!

this busker was bashing out the Oasis hits.

Another good idea was that if you produced your car park ticket you received free strawberries and cream.
The warm weather must be going to everyone's heads.

We shall see whether we are on the move tomorrow .... itching to get back on the Thames and start going North.
