Day 69 .... 20.07.13 ..... Lower Heywood

Stoppage has been cleared and so we are on our way again towards Banbury through some great countryside.  Filled up with water etc at Thrupp and were again impressed with how clean it was and well kept.  The boaters who moor there look after it and even sponsor a flower barrel or basket each.

Some of the locks are extremely narrow and it is often fairly tight manoeuvring through bridges etc. They are very picturesque though.

Typical of the Oxford Canal are lift bridges ..........

these again are very narrow and are hopefully balanced correctly otherwise they are quite difficult to hold down or to pull down.

We couldn't make up our minds whether this was a hippy shanty town or a cafe !!!!..........

it suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

This last pic gives a good idea of the kind of rural bridges .........

The tow-path for the horses sometimes takes up more room than the canal.

Tomorrow should be going through more deserted countryside towards Banbury....... probably get there on Monday and have a "re-provisionning" at Tescos..................... am going to try again replying to comments, have forgotten how to do it.  This is late because last night there was no signal on the Dongle.
