Day 67 .... 18.07.13 .... Thrupp, Oxford Canal

Left Abingdon mightily impressed by its moorings and the way it presents itself.  Superb weather still, great for cruising since there is a light breeze on the water. Oxford looking as usual on the approaches ...... rowing etc.  .............................

Strangely once you go past the Folly Bridge in the centre it is not beautiful until one gets out on the open fields.  A lovely low bridge ..........

have to duck ...............

but then into some very wide flood plains before the famous Trout Inn. (which I have never visited I don't think ....Maggie has !!!! but not with me  ..too expensive !!!)

I haven't put in a pic of the A34 going over the river which we have passed over a zillion times.

This is the last lock on the Thames before going into Dukes Cut and on to the Oxford Canal.  The lock-keepers were on a lunch break. Love the sign.

The next lock was a surprise !!!!

We are now on the smaller confines of the Oxford canal ....   this is the entrance to a lock !!! ........... ever northwards ! Have arrived at a village called Thrupp about which more tomorrow.
