Took this photo because the village that this is near is where Branston Pickle originated. About a mile outside Burton-on-Trent.
.................... there were a couple of lovely narrow locks and the weather has been holding out well.
...................Alrewas where we have stopped is a little gem surrounded by a great deal of industry and is amazingly quiet. A total mixture of old buildings .....................
........... some strangely at angles to the High Street.
............ purchased some meat at this butcher who appears to be renowned the length and breadth of the system. Whenever you mention Alrewas a boater will say, "great butcher", as indeed did the locals.
