Day 117 .... 07.09.13 ....Little Haywood

On leaving Rugeley we went back over the Trent through some very quiet countryside, including this school near Little Haywood which was hidden off the side of the canal.

..................stopped at Wolsely Bridge which has a pub and a n antique centre which we enjoyed looking around.  Did NOT but anything............. was tempted by a 1930's
T.G.Green bowl but not much else.

......................... all very well laid out.

.............................  then went toShugborough, which was the home of the Earl of Lichfield before being handed over to the National Trust and made into a very good living museum.  Lovely place and an interesting place to wander around. This is the front view ..................

.................... and the back. A bit like Alice in Wonderland. The garden that is

................ finally on the way to our mooring, this barn and church at a village called Colwich.

  1. Very intrigued to see that you went to Shugborough as we always pass the sign to it on the way to Dumgree and keep saying we must go. Now we really must as it looks most interesting and of course the Earl was a great photographer.
    Muchly enjoying the blog!
